My Review

What a colorful festival! I can not share photos with you - they are all buried in a closet. I was in the 545th Military Police with the 1st Cavalry Division, stationed at Camp Schimmelpfennig, Sendai.

The Star Festival, or Tanabata Fest gave me lasting memories of Japan, and the wonderful people there. I come from a city in the U.S. that also has a large flower festival, and the comparison was real.

I'm positive the streets that were decorated in those years are probably the same ones that are decorated now. At that time the streets did not have total cover over them, so if it rained, the decorations were partially ruined.

If I ever get the chance to return - I will!
