1. Yokohama Akarenga (Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse) Skate Rink

Enjoy skating in the romantically illuminated rink in Yokohama. The art event called Art Rink in Yokohama Akarenga is held until February 15, 2009.

Access: Subway Sakuragicho Station/Kannai Station
Minatomirai Line Bashamichi Station/Nihonodori Station
Admission: 500 yen for adults

2. Valentine Island Enoshima

The Enoshima Island is filled with Illuminations, and the view of the beach is so romantic at night. Enoshima observatory lighthouse and gardens are beautifully illuminated, and special light shows are held on weekends and holidays.
Place: Enoshima Fujisawa-city, Kanagawa prefecture
Access: Odakyu Line or Enoden Line Enoshima Station

3. Tokyo City View Sweet Valentine Special 2009

Place: Tokyo City View Mori Tower Roppongi Hills
Minato-ku, Tokyo
Period: January 31 - February 15, 2009
With web coupons, couples are offered discount admission. The rooftop observatory, Sky Deck is specially illuminated.

4. Kanazawa Kenrokuen Winter Illumination

Place: Kenrokuen Garden Kanazawa-city, Ishikawa
Period: February 6 - 15, 2009

5. Lover's Cape (Koibito Misaki)

Lover's Cape is located in Izu Peninsula. There are many good onsen (hot springs) in Izu. It's good to plan a onsen trip to Izu and visit Lover's Cape. There is the Love Call Bell at the observatory. The Lover's Cape office issues lovers certifications.

Access: Take a Tokai bus from JR Shuzenji Station to Toi

6. Gotenba Kogen Resort Winter Illumination

Spend a fun day or two at Tokinosumika which is a wide area with many sports facilities, shops, hotels, hot springs, and more. The winter illumination attracts lots of visitors every year.
Period: November 14, 2008 - March 8, 2009
Time: 5 p.m.-9:30 p.m. (Jan. 5 - March 8, 2009)
Place: Gotenba Kogen Tokinosumika Gotenba-city, Shizuoka
Access: Takes about 50 minutes by shuttle bus from JR Tokaido Shinkansen Mishima Station

7. Tokyo/Yokohama Helicopter Cruising

It's exciting and romantic to cruise over the city of Tokyo. Day, twilight, and night cruises are available. The cruising times are from 5 minutes to 20 minutes.

8. Hokkaido Sounkyo Hyoubaku (Ice Water Fall) Festival

Large ice sculptures are made by freezing water around wooden frames. Illuminated ice sculptures attract many visitors every year. Firework displays take place every night at 8:30 p.m.

Place: Kamikawa Town, Hokkaido
Access: Take a bus from JR Kamikawa Station to Sounkyo.

9. Tokyo Bay Cruise Symphony

Two ships cruise from Tokyo Hinode Pier to Odaiba/Tokyo Bay. Plan a romantic sunset or dinner cruise. French and Italian restaurants are available.
