Soga Jenkins Family Reunited

Hitomi Soga who is a former abductee by North Korea was reunited with her Amerian husband, Charles Jenkins and their two daughters for the first time in 21 months in Indonesia on July 9, 2004.

After Hisomi Soga repatriated to Japan, the family had to live separately in North Korea and Japan. Charles Jenkins and Hitomi Soga met and married in North Korea, and their two daughters were born there.

Japanese government have been helping Mrs. Soga to be able to live with her family in Japan. However , because Mr. Jenkins is a former U.S. Army Sergent who deserted to North Korea, Mr. Jenkins has been hesitating to come to Japan where he might not be safe. The family will stay at a Jakarta Hotel for a while and try to spend peaceful time and make decisions.
