Sayuri - Memoirs of a Geisha Movie

Sayuri is an american movie which based on a novel, Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. The film is produced by Steven Spielberg and is directed by Rob Marshall. Sayuri was filmed in California and Japan. One of the places is Kiyomizudera Temple, Kyoto.

Ziyi Zhang plays the leading role, Sayuri, who becomes a geisha. The name, Sayuri, used to be one of the most popular Japanese girl names. Ken Wakatabe who acted in the Last Samurai plays the man with whom Sayuri falls in love with. Other main actors are Gong Li, Michelle Yeoh, Koji Yakusho, Youki Kudoh, and Kaori Momoi.

The world premiere of Sayuri, Memoirs of a Geisha film, is held at Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan (Japanese Sumo Gymnasium) on Nov. 29, 2005. The movie hits theaters on December 10th (Japan Time) in the world. Enjoy this geisha movie!
