The wedding of Princess Sayako and Tokyo metropolitan government employee Yoshiki Kuroda is held on November 15, 2005 at Teikoku Hotel (Imperial Hotel), Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. Heisei Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko who are parents of Princess Sayako are attending the wedding. Princess Sakayo is the only daughter of them. Crown Princess Masako is her sister-in-law.

There are some rituals planned before the wedding. One is called Choken no Gi and was held on November 12. Princess Sayako visited the emperor and the empress and showed her gratitude.

It's reported that the wedding is held in shinto-style and that about 120 guests are invited to the wedding reception which is held in the same hotel.

Princess Sayako leaves the Japanese royal family and becomes a commoner after her marriage. Japanese government gives Princess Sayako 152.5 million yen upon her marriage as a dowry. Japanese imperial law stipulates that maximum amount of a dowry is 152.5 million yen.
