Costume play has been a trend among Japanese youth, and various events are held in Japan. The World Cosplay Summit organized by Aichi Television Broadcasting Co. has begun in 2003, and the 7th summit takes place on August 1 and 2 in 2009. Cosplayers from 15 countries, including Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Singapore, Thailand, United States participate in the event.
