Hirosaki Koen

Hirosaki Koen is one of the best places to see cherry blossoms in Tohoku region, and millions of people visit here every year. Cherry blossoms in more than 2,600 sakura trees look beautiful with the Hirosaki Castle. They are illuminated at night. [br] Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival: April 23 - May 5, 2009

Kitakami Tenshochi

There are 10,000 sakura trees in the Tenshochi Koen Park in Iwate prefecture. It's one of the best places to see cherry blossoms in Tohoku region. During the cherry blossom festival, sightseeing carriages and pleasure boats along the Kitakami River are operated. [br] Kitakami Tenshochi Cherry Blossom Festival: April 18 - May 5, 2009

Aizu Tsurugajo Koen

Tsurugajo Koen is the surroundings of the Tsuruga Castle which was originally built in the 14th century. There are about 1,000 sakura trees in the park. Cherry blossoms are gorgeous with the main castle tower. During the cherry blosssom festival, stone walls, moats, and sakura trees are illuminated. [br] Night Light Up: April 10 - May 6, 2009

Kajo Koen

Kajo Koen is located in the center of Yamagata-city. There are about 1,200 sakura trees in the park, and cherry blossoms are illuminated at night. [br] Cherry Blossom Season: Late April

Sendai Castle

Sendai Castle is known as Aoba-jo and is a symbol of Sendai-city in Miyagi. There are about 480 sakura trees. [br] Cherry Blossom Season: Late April
