Yokohama is the capital city of Kanagawa prefecture and is located about 19 mile south of Tokyo. It was the first port to be opened to international trade in 1859 when Japan ended its national seclusion. Yokohama has become the second largest city in Japan.

Yokohama-city is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the opening of the Port of Yokohama by holding the "EXPO Y150" from April 28 to September 27 in 2009. Most of the exhibitions and theater events take place in the Minato Mirai area. A 20m diameter balloon floats in the sky, and image projections on the balloon take place daily 7:25 p.m., 8 p.m., 8:35 p.m., and 9:10 p.m. Although you can enjoy many events for free, to enter the main areas, you need admission tickets. They are available at convenience stores, travel agencies, and ticket agencies in Japan.
