Mitaka Ghibli Museum in Tokyo

Ghibli Museum in Brief:
The Studio Ghibli has been producing lots of great Japanese animations. Some of them are films by a well-known director, Miyazaki Hayao, including My neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and Howl's Moving Castle. The museum exhibits the process of making animations and presents short animation films. The arts and decorations inside the museum are colorful and fantastic.

1-1-83 Simorenjaku Mitaka-city, Tokyo
Access:
Take a JR Chuo Line train from Shinjuku to Mitaka Station. 15 minute walk from JR Mitaka Station South Exit to the museum. Or, take a community bus to the museum from Mitaka Station South Exit.
Admission:
1,000 yen (adults)
700 yen (age 13-18)
400 yen (age 7-12)
100 yen (age 4-6)

You need to purchase a reserved ticket with an appointed date and time for admission, in advance. See How to Buy Tickets outside Japan. In Japan, tickets can be purchased at Lawson convenience stores.

Hours:
Hours: 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. *It's basically closed on Tuesdays except national holidays.
