Shurijo Castle ParkThe area around Shuri Castle is called Shuri-jo Park. It's located on a hill, so the view from this park is spectacular. Shuri Castle was the residence of the Ryukyu royal family for over 400 years. This architecture of this castle is very different from typical castles in Japan. The color is an orange-red and the building is a mixture of Japanese and Chinese architectural styles. There are many historical buildings, and also there is a museum in this park. If you are interested in the history, it's a good place to visit. You can be carried back to the Ryukyu era, while walking around here. The gate called Shurei-no-mon is well-known and became the symbol of Okinawa.
