How to get to Sapporo:
It takes one and half hours to fly from Tokyo Haneda Airport to the Sapporo Chitose Airport.
From Chitose Airport: Chitose Airport is about 30 miles away from Sapporo city, so take Airport Limousine bus or JR train to get to the center of Sapporo city. It takes about one hour.
It is also possible to go to Sapporo by trains from Tokyo. Take Tohoku Shinkansen to Hachinohe station. Take the JR Express train to Hakodate station. Then, transfer to the JR Express train to Sapporo. The trip takes about 10 hours. Sleeping cars called Hokutosei and Cassiopeia go to Sapporo from Ueno.

How to get around in Sapporo:
The subway system is convenient in Sapporo. All subway lines cross at the Odori Station. Get one day passes at any subway station. Also it's not hard to walk around the city since most of the sightseeing spots are within walking distance of Sapporo station.
