Nikko attracts many travelers throughout the year, especially in fall. It's one of the best fall foliage destinations in Japan. Yuba (thin beancurd sheet) is one of Nikko's specialty food, and there are many yuba restaurants in the area.
Access to Nikko: It takes about two hours by Tobu Railway limited express train from Asakusa Station to Tobu Nikko Station. Or, it takes about 50 minutes by JR local train from JR Utsunomiya Station to JR Nikko Station.

It's the most popular attraction in Nikko, where the Tokugawa shogun Ieyasu is enshrined.

This long-established shrine is located near Toshogu Shrine. Shinkyo, the sacred bridge, belongs to Futarasan Shrine.

In the main building called Sanbutsudo hall, three Buddha statues are housed. The beautiful garden is called Shoyo-en.

Sightseeing boats are operated on Lake Chuzenji, and there are hotels and shops located around the lake. The road up to and down from Lake Chuzenji is known for a number of sharp curves and is called Irohazaka. It's a popular fall foliage viewing spot.
Access: It takes about 45 minutes by bus from Nikko Station to Chuzenji Onsen stop.
It's one of the three greatest waterfalls in Japan and is located near Lake Chuzenji.
