Mount Takao is a 599 high mountain located about 30 miles west of central Tokyo and is a popular hiking destination. You can also take the cable car or the lift to halfway up the mountain. Stop by the Takaosan Yakuoin temple and enjoy nature walks in the sacred mountain. Beautiful autumn leaves usually peak from mid to late November in Mount Takao.
