Hokkaido is an ideal destination to enjoy the beauty of nature, especially during the summer. Furano/Biei area in the central Hokkaido is known for its picturesque views of many hills although the lavender in the fields has finished blooming for the year. Most travelers use tour buses or rent cars to look around the area. If you are traveling by public transportations, renting a bike near train stations might not be a bad idea if you don't mind going up and down the hills.
