Tokushima Awa Odori

Awa Odori is a traditional folk dance festival held from August 12th through 15th in Tokushima-city, Tokushima prefecture. Tokushima used to be called awa, so the unique dance was named awa odori. It's one of the most well-known festival in Japan and attracts more than one million visitors every year. Joining the dancing is the best way to experience awa odori.
