Kyoto Gion Matsuri

Kyoto Gion Festival The Gion Matsuri is held from July 1 to 31 in Kyoto every year. The city is in a summer festive mood during the period, and you see many people wear summer kimono on the streets. The highlight of the Gion Matsuri is the Yamahoko-junko which is a procession of large floats takes place on the 17th. Plan a trip to Kyoto to experience this traditional Japanese festival around the time.
