Friday November 14, 2008
Japanese Maple Leaves Miyajima Island in Hiroshima is one of the Japan's most scenic sights, and Itsukushima Shrine is inscribed on the UNESCO's World Heritage List. Many tourists visit the island throughout the year, and autumn is a great season to visit. Momijidani Koen (Japanese Maple Valley Park) in Miyajima Island is famous for its Japanese maple trees and is a popular spot for viewing autumn leaves. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the park from the Miyajima Pier. Also, Daishoin Temple in the island holds Momiji Matsuri (Japanese Maple Festival) from November 18-24.
