The annual November sumo tournament (Kyushu basho) is held from November 9 to 23 at Fukuoka Kokusai Center in Fukuoka-city. Fukuoka is the capital city of Fukuoka prefecture with a population of over 1.4 million. It's famous for its yatai (food stalls) which are mainly located in Tenjin and Nakasu areas.
