Beat the Heat with Frozen Treats

Wednesday August 20, 2008
Japanese monkeys in Ueno Zoo Temperatures in Tokyo exceed 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees in Fahrenheit) from mid. July to late August. Partly due to the heat island effect, summer in Tokyo has been really hot. To beat the heat, animals at Tokyo Ueno Zoo were given ice blocks which contain frozen fruits on August 12, 2008. Ueno Zoo is located in the Ueno Park and is filled with families with children during the school summer holidays.
