Tanabata Festivals

Monday June 23, 2008
Japanese Tanabata Tanabata festivals (star festival) are held around July 7th or August 8th in Japan. It's a tanabata tradition to write wishes on tanzaku papers and hang them on bamboo branches. Bamboo branches decorated with various kinds of paper crafts are set up on the streets. Sendai Tanabata Festival and Hiratsuka Tanabata Festival are the most popular tanabata festivals.
Enjoy the colorful tanabata displays.
