Futon Questions

A member of Japan for Visitors forum asks, "I am planning on replacing my bed soon and have been told that traditional Japanese futons are great for sleeping. Since I am moving into a small apartment I thought it would be cool to get some extra living space out of my bedroom since they are designed to be folded up. Unfortunately I know little about the concept and I would like to ask some questions of the experienced futon sleepers..."
