Tokyo Earthquake

Saturday July 23, 2005
A strong earthquake struck Kanto region at 4:35 p.m. on Saturday July 23 (Japan Time.) Japan Meteorological Agency reported that the quake originated about 73km underground in northwestern Chiba Prefecture and that the magnitude was 6.0. An upper five was measured on the Japanese seismic scale in Tokyo. More than 20 people are reported injured at this point. It's warned that aftershocks of up to magnitude five may occur over few days.
