Teaching in Japan

"My fiance and I are hopefully going to be able to teach English in Japan for a year but are a little apprehensive... I just want to know if anyone has taught there before and what their experience was like. We are hoping to go with a Christian University group of people but are curious about housing, the students, the prices, the food, just everything..." Suggestions?
